Here at Bosconi records we are so sentimental that we decided to put out the
second chapter of the “That’s Amore” series. This time Ilario Alicante and Rufus share their love for House music with a great split vinyl: A sides sees the funked-up assault of Chicago Moods , an epic peak time bomb that take Ilario on a top level as a proper 4/4 dance music producer. The track has an open-space and uplifting feeling, a real summer festivals weapon that with his bouncy and rolling groove, rubbery fat bassline, catchy riffs and modulated neo Detroit synths will fit perfectly into each summer dj set. For huge dancefloors and big soundsytems, hype but with a certain charm.
Rufus’s Luv Luv Luv instead is the underground part of the ep: melancholic,
elegant, raw and emotional, the track is sustained by a pumping beat and a “full on face” jacked out groove that moves within a syncopated collage of soulful and romantic vocals. The complex combination of dissonant electric piano melodies with the vocals game gives to the track a superb melodic appeal. The result is something in between acid jazz, jackin and garage house, obviously oldskool and 90’s style but revisited in an original and modern way.
